Student Credit Cards

Respect your credit card and it will respect you
Although everyone enjoys spending with a credit card because its easy and fun, it has the potential to ruin your financial future. This all has to do with a little something called your credit rating. This is what lenders look at to judge whether or not you're trustworthy enough to be given a home, car, college, or any other kind of loan. If you pay your bill on time, you're fine. Simple as that. If you're late or miss a payment, you're in trouble.

The particular card we're focusing on here is the student credit card. It differs from a regular credit card only in that it tends to have lower interest rates and a lower credit line. Student credit cards are not rocket science. They are simple, especially if you pay your bill on time. Two different types of student cards are the following:

prepaid student credit cards - functions as a debit card, drawing from a pre-existing, specified bank account which uses only your funds and none borrowed.
low interest student credit cards - a type of card that has especially low interest for those who plan on usually making only the minimum payment each month.

So, say you're the type of person who likes to go in whatever direction the wind takes you, whether it be your local shopping mall or on the next flight to Mexico. If you've decided to hit the mall first, you see a new bikini or pair of boardshorts that are screaming your name and with a flinch of your wrist and a swipe of your credit card, you've got what you were looking for. You're looking for the prepaid student cards that can lead to the coveted low interest student cards.

And naturally, what other good place is there to show off your new purchases other than Mexico? Let's face it, you've worked hard this semester and deserve to spend a quiet week in Cancun basking in the sun and catching up on fine literary classics all the while sipping on a few beverages here and there. Or after applying for one of the more appropriate college student credit cards that are out there for you, you can vacation like the rest of us and hope that the parental units will never get a hold of your digital memory card that holds the evidence of your truth.

Student credit cards
It's important to build a good relationship with the best student credit cards that are out there. Almost like an ex-boyfriend or an ex-girlfriend, you always think twice before allowing a cheating loser back into your life again. And just like your past love life might come back to haunt you one day, your credit history can do the same. Keep it clean and avoid the mess. Start out with any one of a number of high school student credit cards and move your way up to the next level.

As you can see, there are a few options when it comes to student credit cards. If you're a young adult, look into a few different student credit cards and choose the one that works best for your lifestyle. Visa student credit cards are recommended by many professionals in the industry. The more time it takes you to pay back, the more money it's costing you in interest. So if you and your friends think you're ready, go out and get your student credit cards today!

It's important to start teaching children about fiscal responsibility early. We all remember those little tills that we used to play with as we played our own supermarket game. That's only the first step. Prepaid cards are a great way to start a teenager about credit and how to take good care of it. They do not incur any fees and there is no APR. And when they get out there on their own for the first time, Student Discover Credit Cards are a good next step.
